Announcements/Recognition

• Nico Kilmer – Rotary Booklet draft is available….please verify info ASAP.  Nico also mentioned Foundation Dinner North coming up on Oct 18th.  Tickets are $50 each with raffle tickets for $25.  Meeting at ALSB on 9-29 from 3:00 to 5:00.
• Pat Whitchurch - Announced that Gary Wyatt will be having a Rotarian pool party coming up on Saturday August 30th at 1:00.  Bring a salad, side, or dessert.  2505 Barber Creek Rd. Hydesville
• Kevin Johnson – We could use a few more volunteers for HOPS cleanup crew Saturday evening.  If you are pouring, please show up 30 minutes before your shift.
• Dennis Hazelton – Rotary Golf Tournament is coming up on Sept 5th at 1:00.  Four man scramble with plenty of prize money on the line.  Rotarians are encouraged to form teams with non members to help round out the field.  Dennis visited Ferndale, Sunrise Rotary and Garberville whereas Nico visited Eureka, SW Eureka and Arcata Noon.
• Buck pool coming up next week….bring your wallet
• Tom Herman and Bob Zigler – Each fined $5 for their participation in the kidnapped tourist trial
• Alan French – Fined $10 for purchasing 2 chickens ($450 price tag) as well as a sheep and a pig at the Junior Livestock Auction
• Shannon McWhorter – Fined $10 for purchasing a turkey and a hog at the auction
• Leo Mack – Fined $10 for his accidental purchase of a 245 pound pig at the Livestock Auction.  A not so small price to pay for being boozed up ($685)
• Roy Curless – Fined $10 for winning a bottle of champagne at the chamber mixer.  Roy also got his house painted by Hydesville church and Laurada made a $2,000 contribution for their efforts
• Kevin Johnson – Fined $10 for winning a night’s stay for the Benbow Inn

Simone Wittwer, our incoming exchange student, gave a power point presentation and showed a film of her home country Switzerland.  Welcome Simone!!
