The regular meeting of the Fortuna Rotary Club was called to order at 12:30 on Thursday July 17, 2008 by President Nico Kilmer (AKA- Yosemite Samantha). Pledge was lead by Ken Huffington and the invocation by Kate Lanferman.
Visiting Rotarians: Johanna Rodoni - Supervisor Sunrise Rotary, Chris Brannan - Garberville Asst. District Governor, Ed Fullerton District Governor and his wife Carol.

Announcements and Recognitions:
Sept. 20th is the Foundation General Northern Membership Seminar at the Red Lion (?) from 10 - 3pm. All new members or members who have never attended should go. The location will be confirmed later.
Tentative date for the Mayor's Fundraiser is April 9th.
Fines:
Shannon McWhorter won $800 at a Poker Tourney, He donated it to his wife. He was fined $5.
Dave Somerville II was fined $20 for his 42 shot golf game. He passed it on to Shannon.
Kathy Philp for her part in the dunk tank at last months mixer was fined $10. But she raised it to $20 for the Polio for kids.
Jerry Beacom was fined $40 for his golf game and his trip to Paris and the Mediterranean cruise.
Ed Tanferani was fined $20 for his practical joke on the Rodeo Committee. He sent a large pizza box with a small pizza in it. He did try to bargain for $5. NO WAY
Program: DG Ed Fullerton discussed his life and career in the Marines as a Pilot and how he met his wife Carol of 48 years. He discussed what he see's in the next year for Rotary and his district's goals. "Is my life worth the Sacrifice of our solders?"
