Institute for Leadership for District 5130 - Leadership development program on Friday & Saturday, October 17 & 18 at the River Lodge. If you would like to attend see Nico. We are hoping Jesse would be able to attend.
- Foundation Dinner North at the River Lodge on October 18th we are co-hosting with the Sunrise Club. Purchasing the 5/$100 raffle tickets qualifies you for sustaining Paul Harris membership in the Rotary Foundation and gives good opportunity to win great prizes too. We are planning on making this a very elegant evening. Our theme is “Dreams take Flight” in keeping with our speaker, Brian Shul, fighter pilot, author and speaker. Dinner tickets are $50/person. Next committee meeting will be today, Thursday, October 2, 2008 at NICO’s office at 5:15. Our current committee is Dennis Hazelton, Connie Berti, Dave Somerville, Nico and Kathy Philp. We need help with decorating, planning, raffle prizes, check in and other activities, so please volunteer to help. Dennis Hazelton has more raffle tickets. Get stubs and checks to him now.
- Next Board meeting Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 5:15 at Nico’s office. New members Kathy Philp, Tom Herman & Joe Rogers this is your opportunity to fulfill one of Rotary membership requirements. Your badges are sitting in my (Kate’s) briefcase. Would love to get them out and pinned to your lapels.
- Allan Baird announced the Hwy 36 Association annual meeting on October 17 & 18 in Red Bluff this year. We will meet in Ray’s parking lot for caravan trip to Red Bluff on Friday but didn’t catch the time they are leaving so call Allan for info.
- Allan Baird is also celebrating 30 years in business on Friday, October 24 with an open house at his office from 2-7pm. Stop by and have some of Allan & Lydia delicious hor de oeuvres and spirits.
- Toddy Thomas Class of 2009 - Annual Spaghetti Dinner - October 16th from 5:30-8pm at the Fortuna Fire Hall on Fortuna Blvd. Dinner & Dessert Auction proceeds benefit 8th grade graduation/celebration. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread, ice cream & beverage. Tickets are $20 for family of 4, Adults $7, Senior /child (under 12) $4. There are raffle tickets for a cord of firewood to be won at the dinner too for $1 each and you don’t have to be there to win. See Allan Baird for tickets.
- Lou Soria was here today and gave us an update on his health. He looks great too-a little thin but great. He will be undergoing intense radiation therapy this next month so please keep him and Dana in your prayers.
- Leonard Whitchurch announced the milk can football game on Saturday in Ferndale. All teams are winning teams with no losses so should be a very exciting game
